Report Errors
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among mothers' accuracy, contingent regulation behavior and children's cognitive abilities. Twenty 5-year-olds were observed while their mothers assisted them in solving challenging task. Mother-child interaction were videotaped. Maternal contingent regulation behavior and children's response were coded. Children's cognitive abilities measured by KISC.
The result of analyses for this study are as follows.
The first, mothers' accuracy on their children's cognitive abilities were positively correlated with contingent regulation behaviors.
The second, mothers' accuracy on their children's cognitive abilities were positively correlated with children's cognitive abilities.
The third, contingent regulation behavior were positively correlated with children's cognitive abilities.
