Objectives: The birthing infrastructure is disappearing due to a decrease in the number of births, low fees, and an increase in the risk of medical litigation. The purpose of this study was to compare the difference in the prevalence of labor complications according to vulnerability of areas lacking labor medical services and to identify the effects of regional labor healthcare resource and accessibility on prevalence of labor complications was investigated to draw implications for the areas lacking labor medical services support project. Methods: Descriptive statistics was used to understand labor healthcare resource and accessibility, and prevalence of labor complications; one-way ANOVA was used for analysis of the difference in the prevalence of labor complications according to vulnerability of areas lacking labor medical services, and Hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used for analysis of the effects of regional labor healthcare resource and accessibility on prevalence of labor complications. Results: The higher the proportion of the population inaccessible to any labor facilities within the reference time, the higher the prevalence of the preeclampsia; the higher the medical use rate for labor facilities within the reference time, the higher the prevalence of the preterm labor. Conclusion: The areas lacking labor medical services support project should be supported in areas where physical access can be improved, in areas where potentially areas lacking labor medical services. and it is necessary to identify and improve the cause for the areas lacking labor medical services with low accessibility.
