이 글은 재수굿의 전승 양상을 서울굿, 황해도굿, 호남굿을 중심으로 살핀 글이다. 재수굿은 굿판에서 가장 쉽게 접할 수 있는 굿이다. 굿판에 가서 만나는 굿은, 망자를 천도하는 진오기굿이 아니라면 대부분 재수굿이라고 칭할 정도로 자주 열린다. 살아있는 사람이 소망을 이루기 위하여 여는 굿은 그 목적에 따라 다양한 이름을 가지고 있다. 집을 신축했거나 성주를 새로 모실 때는 성주굿을 하고, 혼인이나 환갑이 다가오면 조상들께 아뢰고 복을 청하는 여탐굿을 하는데 이를 일러 재수굿이라 칭하기도 한다. 개인의 재수를 위하여, 구체적으로 건강 · 발복 등을 기원하기 위하여 여는 굿을 재수굿이라고 한다면, 성주굿이나 여탐굿도 재수굿의 범주에 들어갈 수 있어, 재수굿의 범위가 상당히 넓다. 서울굿과 황해도굿의 재수굿은 해당 지역 굿의 기본굿으로 인식되어 있으며 이를 바탕으로 다양한 굿으로 확장되는 특성을 보인다. 서울굿에서는 재수굿을 기본으로 인식하면서 진오기굿, 성주굿, 여탐굿, 부군당굿으로 확장된다. 황해도굿도 같은 양상으로 재수굿을 기본으로 하면서 성주굿, 진오기굿으로 확장된다, 서울굿과 황해도굿의 연행 주체는 굿 종류의 다양성과 달리 단일하다. 재수굿, 진오기굿, 성주굿, 부군당굿 등 굿의 목적이 달라 굿거리 구성에 차이가 있지만, 동일한 무당이 성격이 다른 굿을 연행할 수 있기 때문에 재수굿을 기본에 두고 다양한 굿을 연행한다. 호남은 굿 연행자에 따라 재수굿의 구성이 다르다. 세습무가 주재하는 재수굿은 씻김굿과 동일한 형식으로, 망자를 천도하는 굿이지만 이를 재수굿으로 인식한다. 강신무가 주재하는 굿은 씻김굿과 무관한 형식으로 여러 신령을 모시는 것이 아니라 조상을 모시는 식으로 굿을 진행한다. 이처럼 호남의 재수굿은 굿 연행자에 따라 재수굿의 형식이 다르다. 다양한 형식의 재수굿이 존재한다는 것은 호남의 무속을 세습무와 강신무가 공동으로 전승하고 있어서이다. 세습무가 점차 줄고 강신무가 늘고는 있지만 조상을 풀어내야 한다는 씻김굿의 목적만큼은 공통적으로 인식하여 강신무의 재수굿에도 조상 천도를 강조한다. 이처럼 재수굿이 기본이 되는 굿이면서도 다양한 굿으로 존재하게 되는 것은 결국 인간 욕망의 다양함을 반영한 결과로 현재에도 활발하게 전승되고 있다.

This article is to take a look at the succession trend of Jaesu-gut (gut: shaman dance and/or play) with the focus on Seoul-gut, Hwanghaedo-gut and Honam-gut. Jaesu-gut is the gut that is most easily available in any place for gut. Gut that is found in a place for gut is frequently held as most of it is referred to Jaesu-gut unless it is Jinogi-gut that leads the deceased to the heaven. Gut that is held to fulfill the desire of living person has various named depending on its purpose. When a person newly constructed house or welcomes a new governor of the castle, it is referred to as Seongju-gut. And when someone marries or celebrates the 60th birthday, such an event is notified to the ancestors and prayed for blessing which is referred to as Yeotam-gut, and such events could be referred to as Jaesu-gut. For the fortune of an individual in details, the gut that is offered to pray for health, blessing or such is also referred to as Jaesu-gut, and the range of Jaesu-gut is significantly broad since Seongju-gut or Yeotam-gut could be embraced within the range of Jaesu-gut. Jaesu-gut of Seoul-gut and Hwanghaedo-gut has been perceived as the base gut for the gut in the applicable region and it displays the characteristics of expanding into various guts based on the foregoing. In Seoul-gut, Jaesu-gut is perceived as the foundation to expand into Jinogi-gut, Seongju-gut, Yeotam-gut and Bugundang-gut. Hwanghaedo-gut also has its base in Jaesu-gut with the same trend to expand into Seongju-gut and Jinogi-gut. The performance subject of Seoul-gut and Hwanghaedo-gut is unified, unlike the diversity found in the gut types. Jaesu-gut, Jinogi-gut, Seongju-gut, Bugundang-gut and others may have different purpose of gut to have difference in the composition of the gut-geori (subject for shaman dance and/or play), but since the same shaman may perform the gut with different characteristics that the basis is on Jaesu-gut to perform various guts. Depending on the gut performer, Honam has the different composition of Jaesu-gut. Jaesu-gut that is presented with the Seseup-mu (hereditary shaman) has the same style with Ssitgim-gut that it is perceived as Jaesu-gut even if it is a gut that leads the deceased into the heaven. The gut that Gangsin-mu (spiritualistic shaman) presented has a style that is not related to Ssitgim-gut that the gut is processed in the style of enshrining the ancestors, not the way of enshrining a number of holy ghosts. As such, Jaesu-gut of Homan has different style of Jaesu-gut depending on the gut performer. Having the presence of Jaesu-gut in various types could be attributable to the fact that the shamanism of Homan is jointly succeeded by Seseup-mu and Gangsin-mu. Seseup-mu has gradually declined and the Gangsin-mu has expanded but they commonly perceive the purpose of Ssitgim-gut that the ancestors should be relieved that Jaesu-gut of Gangsin-mu also emphasizes the leading its ancestors to the heaven as well. As shown earlier, the presence of gut that is shown to be diversified gut while Jaesu-gut is the basis of such, it would be consequently resulted in reflecting the diversity of human desire and it has actively succeeded in the present time.
