The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the literary position of Chang 26:34~28:9, which corresponds to the story of Isaac’s blessing, to find out what this paragraph means in Isaac’s life and in his family history. This is because research on Isaac has often been neglected. Especially in the blessing story, Isaac is considered to be the one to bless Esau because he is less discerning and even likes meat. But the Bible introduces Isaac as a great leader of faith. First of all, it can be confirmed through the genealogy-centered division that Isaac’s life is an important part of Genesis’s chief history, just like chiefs like Abraham and Jacob, despite many negative and negative evaluations of Isaac. And the structural analysis of Isaac’s life(Genesis 25:19~37:1) also shows that Isaac’s blessing story(Genesis 26:34~28:9) is in a very meaningful and important position in Isaac’s life. The story of Isaac’s blessing is often considered to be the main character, Jacob, who became the heir to the estate with Isaac’s blessing. However, when looking at the cross cod structure for the text, this paragraph does not just say that Jacob was blessed with Isaac, but it can be seen that the trick episode at its center plays a very important and meaningful role. Isaac’s blessing changed completely through the process of deception. This appearance can be seen more clearly through the storytelling of Genesis 26:34~28:9. Isaac tried to bless Esau even though he had welcomed a Canaan woman as his wife. But Isaac realized that he had given the wrong blessing due to the deception of Jacob and Rebekah. Eventually, Isaac, who knew his limitations and God’s providence, was finally able to fulfill his given role as the successor of the inheritance God promised. Therefore, the story of Isaac’s blessing is the scene where Isaac shines the most as the chief of faith.
