The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of sport governance, research trends, components as a rational alternative to prevent various corruption, including privatization of today''s sport organizations, lack of responsibility for organizational management, and unfairness in competition management. It is to present an alternative suitable for the domestic situation. Specifically, based on the concept of governance and the theoretical multidimensionality, the difference between governance in sport and sport governance was identified, and the research trends of domestic sport governance, components, and implementation cases of sport governance abroad were examined. Governance operated in the sport field is an essential institutional element that positively influences the sport organizations. The board of directors'' role in the development and operation of organizational strategies in various non-profit sectors, including sport, was emphasized. In foreign countries, the board is being discussed as the core of the sport governance function, but it has been difficult to confirm the board of directors'' role and function in the domestic sport orgranization. The proposed domestic sport governance establishment process is ''establishment of the board of directors education system,'' ''development of evaluation scale based on disclosure data,'' ''establishment of principles for the board''s mission,'' and ‘establishments the organization''s self-assessment system’. Sport exist in all three aspects: public, private for-profit, and private non-profit, but building good sport governance requires continuous efforts at all organization levels.
