Advances in AI technology are leading innovative changes in the arts field. In addition, mother-of-pearl lacquerware patterns are one of Korea"s artistic and cultural heritage and are an important part of our culture. However, more than research on producing and reinterpreting body artworks by incorporating AI technology in modern reinterpreting these traditional patterns is required. Accordingly, the primary purpose of this study is, first, to study how the convergence of art and technology can interpret and transform the traditional mother-of-pearl pattern of the Joseon Dynasty into modern art. Second, by suggesting new methods that can be used to create body artworks, we seek to diversify existing expression techniques. The research method of this study is, first, to analyze the patterns of mother-of-pearl lacquerware from the Joseon Dynasty by examining materials and related literature collected at the National Museum of Korea, the Seoul Museum of Craft Art, and E-museum and second, by using DALL ㆍE2, an AI image generation program, to analyze mother-of-pearl lacquerware patterns from the Joseon Dynasty. Lacquerware patterns and various image transformations were performed in modern interpretations. Third, the AI-generated image is added and modified to complete the final digital image. Fourth, the completed digital image produces four final works in total using projection mapping and digital drawing techniques on the body torso. As a result, the use of AI image generators played a transformative role in the art creation process, differing from conventional methods. AI provided new creative tools for artists and designers, offering a unique experience in the art creation process. Moreover, by utilizing AI image generators, it was possible to explore methods for reproducing traditional patterns from a new visual perspective. This study can predict various possibilities for expanding the future beauty art field and find that traditional art heritage can be developed convergently with modern AI technology. The results of this study are expected to lead to the conduct of multifaceted research in body art, incorporating new body art expression techniques using AI technology. This research aims to contribute to the innovative transformation of methods in creating body art.
