Two pieces of Joseon folk songs listed in 『Favorite Songs(愛唱歌集)』 having been published at Okinawa in 1971 are <Arirang> and <Doraji>. Though two are new folk songs having been popular in Joseon Dynasty, early 20th century, researches on <Arirang> have been accumulated considerably due to continuous interests of learned circles, but interests and discussions about <Doraji> is insufficient relatively. This study looks into aspects of poetic diction and enjoying context in Joseon Dynasty, early 20th century, before <Bellflower Ballad> was listed to 『Favorite Songs Collection』 of Okinawa, and aims at deducing the meaning of <Doraji> having been accepted to Japan and Okinawa afterwards. According to vulgar songs having been published at early 20th century, there were three kinds which were sung in Joseon by being titled like <Doraji>. One version among them was sung as popular songs for singing by Korean geishas in 1930~1940s, and became to greet the golden age. The point of bringing almost contemporaneous popularity of this song in Japan requires attention. After liberation, <Doraji> became to be sung in all parts of the world as the song representing Joseon along with <Arirang>. In Japan, <Doraji> was enjoyed as a song which belonged to Japanese popular songs through media like record and broadcast, Japan performance of the singing person in charge etc. In this respect, there is a probability of properly selecting by being derived from characteristics such as Joseon character, intimacy, and popular appeal. Specially, <Doraji> has lower resistance than <Arirang> relatively, and could be said as a song whose enjoyment is more obvious, and such characteristics seems to play a role in being settled as a popular song of Japan. <Doraji> listed in 『Favorite Songs Collection』 was put together with popular songs having been sung widely at that time by being classified into “familiar song.” In Okinawa, <Doraji> was recognized and enjoyed as a song repertoire in which colonization was cleaned out from the song of colony Joseon, and enjoyment was guaranteed.
