China is a land of courtesy that values consanguinity and kinship, and kinship terms are a very important part of the appellation system. Kinship terms that were originally used in blood relationship or marriage have long penetrated into internet communication, and their use has become very common. Netizens are good at getting close to each other and expressing their feelings enthusiastically through the use of kinship terms in internet communication. On the one hand, they convey their favorable impression, On the other hand, they approach their favorite targets in disguise. This paper adopts the probability theory of sociolinguistics, over 5000 corpuses were collected. Carefully classify the use of kinship terms by netizens in Sina Weibo from October 2021 to February 2022, and investigate the forms that are actually used in internet communication. In the Weibo virtual field, kinship terms are mainly embodied in three broad forms: “direct use of kinship terms”, “name/network name and kinship terms”, “other modifiers and kinship terms”. It plays an incomparable role in narrowing the distance between the two sides of communication and shows the characteristics of randomness, adaptability and regionality, and building a smooth internet communication.
