In this study, the aspect and characteristics of Yun Bokjin’s children’s song included in the anthologies of North and South Korean children’s song before and after division were investigated. Through this, attention was paid to the process by which Yun Bokjin’s children’s song were canonizationed differently in the North and South Korean children’s song. Yun Bokjin published his personal collection of children’s songs, 『꽃초롱 별초롱』(1949), then went to North Korea and continued to create children’s songs, establishing himself as a representative children’s writer in North Korea. But In South Korea, his existence was forgotten because of a ban on the sale of works by those who had gone to North Korea. As a result, a variety of children’s songs by Yun Bokjin were recorded in the North Korean children’s anthologies but the South Korean children’s anthologies only contain some of the children’s songs created before the division. Differences in the political system between the two Koreas also caused differences in the way of preserving and enjoying Yun Bokjin’s children’s song created before division.
The North Korean children’s song anthology contains a relatively wide range of children’s songs written by Yun Bokjin and added some content to works that show people’s character, local character, and class character. In South Korea, there was a tendency to repeatedly include works that focus on children’s innocence in recognizing nature and family, animals and objects. The diverse spectrum of Yun Bokjin’s children’s song is better revealed in the anthologies of North Korean children’s songs. Since the complete list of works created by Bok‒jin Yoon has not been provided, it is necessary to prepare a list of children’s songs by Yoon Bok‒jin, focusing on the works contained in the North and South Korean nursery rhymes, and secure the original works to secure the Yun Bok‒jin nursery rhymes created before division. Based on this, it is necessary to examine the works created after defecting to North Korea in relation to the works created during the colonial period.
