The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of SSE on exercise perform capability and intellectual capability of children with developmental disabilities. The purpose of this study is to present guidelines for more easily accessible exercise programs for children with developmental disabilities and to help them improve their exercise perform capability and develop cognitive functions. The subjects of this study were children with developmental disabilities who used the welfare center for the disabled in area C in Gyeongsangnam-do, and 10 people from the experimental group, 10 people from the comparison group were selected. In order to verify the effect of the SSE program, analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) was performed by setting the prior scores of the experimental and comparison groups as covariates and the paired t-test was performed to verify the effect of the experiment with the mean change value within the group. In addition, to measure the exercise perform capability of children with developmental disabilities, observation papers analyzed by 3 special sports experts 3 times were used. As a result, first, total score of SSE program was found to have a positive effect on the improvement of TGMD-II. Second, there were significant effects on running, galloping, leaping, horizontal jumping, sliding, catching and overhand throwing, which were measured by TGMD-Ⅱ from children with developmental disabilities. Third, SSE program was found to have a positive effect on the improvement of intellectual quotient(IQ) of children with developmental disabilities.
