The purpose of this study is to compare the characteristics of domestic medical tourism perceived by Malaysian medical tourists with medical tourism in other foreign countries and to analyze satisfaction factors. Eight Malaysian medical tourists participated in the interview of this study. Malaysian medical tourists showed high satisfaction with the high level of medical services and friendly services experienced in Korea. In addition, compared to other advanced medical tourism countries, the specialty that can be experienced in Korea was mentioned as an attractive tourist destination that can be visited after receiving medical services. The participant mentioned that it is easy to move to tourist attractions in the suburbs of large cities after receiving medical treatment at medical institutions in many large cities in Korea, and that he feels convenient because of the well-equipped public transportation system. In addition, it was said that the cost was reasonable compared to the level of domestic medical services, and in this way, inexpensive costs were found to be an important factor in coming to Korea from Malaysia. The participant also mentioned the importance of interpretation services provided when visiting medical institutions, and Malaysia is a country composed of several races, so it can be said that interpretation services suitable for each race are needed. Meanwhile, Malaysian consumers, who are highly satisfied with domestic medical tourism, are willing to revisit in the future and are willing to actively recommend factors that satisfy domestic medical tourism to their acquaintances. This study can be said to be of great significance in analyzing the factors they are aware of importantly in medical tourism through the psychological and behavioral analysis of the increasing number of Malaysian medical tourists.
