The purpose of this paper is to examine whether technical vocabulary could be the key factor in integrating content and language in movies. The American movie The Last Witch Hunter (Eisner, 2015) was used as class material. Four college level students volunteered and after the experiment, the following tests were used to measure the subjects: 1) memorization of 13 technical vocabulary items, 2) picking 10 preferred expressions, which were later divided into practical expressions and content-related expressions by their teacher, and 3) translating 5 practical and 5 content-related expressions from Korean into English. The results show that one subject was prominent in memorizing the technical vocabulary items in the first test. The same subject picked 7 content-related expressions and the other three subjects mostly picked practical expressions in the second test. The results of the third test indicate that all the subjects have excellent scores in memorizing practical expressions, but the same subject had a good score in memorizing content-related expressions only. These results seem to imply that teaching technical vocabulary is not useful. However, this does not mean that it is less effective in integrating content and language if even one person is successful in achieving this integration. The relation between technical vocabulary and language development is discussed further.
