This article catalogs the bibliographical entries of self‐narratives published in book form in order to view the overall and content features of ZainichiKorean’s self‐narratives published since the release. Then, the characteristics and tendencies of the contents were macroscopically captured and categorized with reference to the social situation of the same period. The details are summed up by the characteristics of self‐description by the generation of Zainichi Korean, differences and the characteristics of content based on gender, and the characteristics of works that contain testimonies and experiences of atomic bomb victims and Hansen’s diseasepatients. This article also examines the case of self‐narrative in a magazine published mainly by Koreans in Japan, and discusses the process by which a half life of mother who is one generation in Japan was spoken and recorded through her son. Even if it is not completely reproducible, the work of a woman who is hard to talk about in a public place and difficult to announce is recorded and spoken through the next generation, and this is also significant in the dimension of Zainichi Korean family history, evaluated as meaningful.
