This study is to estimate a SFA production function of adjacent water fisheries to produce marginal productivity of fishing efforts and technical efficiency and to test the returns to scale in production. We found that 12 of adjacent water fisheries were suffering DRS while only the other 6 fisheries were in CRS among 18 fisheries under our study. The elasticity of production of number of fishing vessels as one of the major fishing efforts had significantly negative sign with a large magnitude, which proves justification of the current subtraction project of fishing vessels re-enforced by government. The estimate of average technical efficiency was only 31.2% indicating the existence of large scale of technical inefficiency in adjacent fishing production. The large pursue seine recorded the maximum efficiency of 85.3%. On the other hand, East Sea medium Danish seine recorded the minimum of 20.6%. As the exogenous determinant factors of technical efficiency, while the profits had positive impact on efficiency as anticipated, the prices of fish had negative impact due to a reduction in an amount of catch suggested by the increase in price of fish.
