The aim of this study is to investigate anti-inflammatory effect of Gomisin C (GC), a compound derived from Schisandra chinensis, in human cell lines (A549 and THP-1) and mice. In human lung cells (A549) and monocyte cells (THP-1), GC effectively inhibited phorbol 12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA)-mediated inflammatory responses by reducing protein expressions of inflammatory markers.
