Vibrio mimicus, a widely distributed bacteria in the aquatic environment, is a potential pathogen capable of causing foodborne outbreaks. Although conventional PCR methods for qualitative analysis of V. mimicus in foods have been developed, no quantitative analysis method has yet been established. In this study, novel TaqMan real-time PCR primers/probes targeting the sodB gene were designed and verified in a food system.
