This paper makes a detailed description and analysis of the usage of “Shi + O” in the position of object and attribute, and draws the following conclusions: a. Not all predicate object verbs can take “Shi + O” as the object. “Shi + O” is often used as the object of the following verbs: psychological verbs, “self +verbal morpheme” compound verbs, double object verbs, “doomed” verbs, and saying and seeing verbs. In the position of object, the semantic subject of “Shi” can point to different elements in a sentence, such as subject, object, adverbial, central words, etc. b.According to the difference of attributive or central words, the modifier-head phrase with attribute “Shi + O” can be divided into several structural types. In this kind of modifier-head phrase, “Shi + O” and the central words have the relationship of event and semantic subject. This kind of modifier-head phrase can be used as subject, object, prepositional object and Jianyu in a sentence, which shows the diversity of syntactic functions. The difference in type is also reflected in function. c. “Shi + O” and “De” can form “De”-phrase, which are equivalent to a noun and are used to refer to people or things. This kind of “De”-phrase is mainly used as subject in a sentence. The “De”-phrase composed of “Bu + Shi + O” has more functions. d. In the past Chinese research and teaching, the usage of “Shi” in the non predicate position has not received due attention. In order to deepen students' understanding of the overall function of “Shi” and “Shi” sentence, we should objectively introduce the usage of “Shi” in the non predicate position in teaching, so as to effectively improve the effect of Chinese teaching.
