Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education is facing a crisis. In famous universities, liberal arts and literature departments are also losing ground. Most of the Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education so far has been taught by professors in a one-sided way, even if some of the phrases that students do not sympathize with, such as loyalty and fidelity, in terms of personality education or basic education. The current generation of university students are less interested in Classical Chinese and are rather hostile to Chinese characters. Following the past method is likely to increase students" reluctance to Classical Chinese literature, further reducing the number of Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education courses. This study faces the current situation of Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education at major universities with great social influence (Seoul National University, Korea University, Yonsei University, Chung-Ang University, and Kyung Hee University) and seeks directions in the future. In the case of Seoul National University and Korea University, it was confirmed that there were no major problems in both quantity and quality. Yonsei University is poor in quantity, and there is a problem that there is virtually no Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education at Wonju Campus. In the case of Chung-Ang University, education to modernize the classics is a feature, but there is a regret in terms of the diversity of subjects, as there is only one Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education. In the case of Kyung Hee University, relatively many subjects were held, and the diversity of text stood out. However, in the case of Global campus, there was a problem that Chinese Classics as Liberal Arts Education was virtually not conducted. On quantitative matters, the responsible attitude of the liberal education authorities is required. In terms of quality, simple reading and cramming-style liberal arts education should be avoided, and a change to education suitable for the current era is needed. It is urgent to transform into a convergence course that can develop critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration.
