Background
Extensive centralization has been made into urban for complex cancer surgery over the past decade. We analyzed the short-or long-term the surgical outcome related with surgical volume or regional factor following standardization of CRC surgery using Korea national database.
Methods
The analysis was performed by including all patients underwent CRC surgery from 2009 to 2014 in South Korea. The patients were classified into 6 groups according to surgical volume(HV) defined as the average number of surgical volume per year (>200;150~199;100~149;50~99;10~50;<50), 3 group and location of hospital(capital vs others). Postoperative hospital delay(POD), 30-day mortality and 3-year and 5-year overall survival (OS) were analyzed.
Results
