Prophesy toward Judah through oracle of Egypt. Judah was intimidated by the invasion of Assyria and tried to escape from the danger relying on Egyptian aid. Egypt was the ideal example to Judah in economics, politics and system of society, even the gods of Egypt was the object of reliance. However, God destroyed Egypt internally (false gods) and externally (politics, economics, etc.) making Judah lose all hopes on Egypt. The oracle of Egypt brings great despair to Judah. First, Egypt was defeated and ruled by Assyria and the judgment of God was fulfilled. After the judgment of God, Egypt made a peace treaty with Assyria, the greatest menace to all the ancient Palestinian nations and worshiped God of Yahweh together in the language and rituals of Israel. And Judah, taking the next step, makes an agreement with the peace treaty in the presence of all three parties. This peace treaty, thus, is a plan of God’s salvation declaring the salvation of God not only covers Israel, but also Judah and the nation that was once an enemy of God. The peace treaty of Egypt, Assyria and Judah becomes a blessing on the earth. “May Egypt my people be blessed, and Assyria, the work of my hands, and my inheritance, Israel.”
