The purpose of this study is to analyze kindergarten teachers" recognition and experience in curriculum reconstruction. In this study, five teachers from public and private kindergartens located in Seoul and Gyeong-gi areas were selected and were interviewed for 20 times. The results are summarized as following. Fist, kindergarten teachers recognized curriculum reconstruction as understanding Nuri-curriculum"s text, variation of the national level curriculum, path changes at meaningful educational moments, and creating a unique curriculum that includes teachers" educational beliefs. Second, kindergarten teachers experienced transforming a formal framework for planning, insight into play, confusion about the adequacy of the minimum standard, and various ecological contexts limiting autonomy in the process of curriculum reconstruction. This study will provide both an in-depth understanding of kindergarten teachers" curriculum reconstruction and basic data on teacher education to improve teachers" professionalism in curriculum reconstruction.
