Husserl’s concept of life-world can be interpreted in various contexts, but the interpretation from an pedagogical point of view also has an important meaning. The life-world is the everyday world that is given directly to us through experience. However, according to Husserl, it has been covered up and distorted by objective sciences, so the modern people influenced by it have no appropriate way of access to the pure life-world. Thus, approaching and looking at the life-world as it is, implies a change in attitude of human being. Therefore, the theme of the life-world has an pedagogical connotation towards the change or awakening of human nature. In the sense that the life-world is subject-related and closely intertwined with human subjectivity, the theory of life-world education can be considered in three layers, largely coporeal subjectivity, inter-subjectivity, and universal subjectivity, which are respectively supported by the concepts of ‘coporeality’, ‘empathy’ and ‘freedom’ in Husserl. From this point of view, the theory of education of life-world is divided into two aspects: education of sensibility based on empathy, and moral education based on freedom. However, the former ultimately –so I think– converges into the latter. Husserl’s theory of life-world education is focused on the transformation and sublimation of individual consciousness into intersubjective and universal subjectivity, and the theory of freedom toward the realization of universal ethical subjectivity can be seen as the ultimate goal of the education theory of life-world in Husserl.
