The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of music therapy program centered around Orff to improve the emotional intelligence of infants. To that end, thirteen infants aged 6-7 years and enrolled at M Child Care Center in D Metropolitan City were used as objects of the study. The program was conducted twice a week from March to April 16, 2019. A total of 12 sessions were conducted, with each session lasting 30 minutes and consisting of three stages of exploration, imitation, improvisation and creation. The study tool used was the emotional intelligence model which was developed by Lee Byeong-rqae (1997) on the base of Salovery and Mayer model (1996). The Collected data were analyzed with non-parametric statistical analysis. For pre and post verification of a single group, the Wilcoxon Singed-Ranks Test was conducted. The analysis showed that after the program, self-perception, self-regulation, perception of others and regulation of others all significantly improved. In conclusion, music therapy centered around Orff was found to be effective in improving emotional intelligence. This indicates the findings of this study can be used as basic data for instruciton and learning aimed at developing the emotional intelligence of infants in education places.
