National Institute of Crop Science (NICS) in 2005. Jangki was selected from a cros between Eunhakong and MS9108. The pre-liminary, advanced, and regional yield trials for evaluation and selection of this line (Iksan 47) were carried out from 201 to 2005.This cultivar has a determinate growth habit, purple flower, grayish brown pubescence, grayish brow hilum, lanceolate leafletshape and small seed size (11.9 grams per 100 seeds). The maturity date of “Jangki” is thre days later than that of the check vari-ety, “Pungsan”. It has a god seed quality for soybean-sprout. The soybean-sprouts grown from “Jangki” have high isoflavone(5,237g/g) and amino acid (238 mg/g) contents. This cultivar has resistance to soybean mosaic virus (SMV), necrotic symptom(SMV-N), other most troublesome soybean diseases. bacterial pustule and black root rot. Especially, “Jangki” has useful charac-teristics, such as lodging and shattering resistance and adaptability for mechanized harvesting. The average yield of “Jangki” 2.83 MT/ha, about 5% higher than “Pungsannamulkong” at the regional yield trials (RYT) for double cropping.
