Because of consumer rejection of chemicalpesticides and the appearance of microorganisms that areresistant to fungicides, we tried to discover biopesticides. Of13 microrganisms isolated from Shrimp-jeotkal, a Bacilussp. showed strong activity against tomato late blight causedby Phytophthora infestans. Its activity was tested both in vivoand in vitro. The identification of the strain was carried outbased on 16S rDNA analysis and the morphology by scanningelectron microscopy.
