A b-xylosidase was purified from the cultureof Trichoderma sp. SY. The ten-day-old culture filtrate wasconcentrated, followed by ion-exchange chromatography andgel filtration chromatography. As a result, b-xylosidase wasfinally purified about 53-fold and appeared as a single bandby SDS-PAGE. The optimum pH and temperature were 5.0and 55oC, respectively, and the molecular weight about80 kDa. The purified b-xylosidase was found to be inhibitedby various metal ions but not inhibited by xylose.
