Concerning the political aspect in Andong region right after liberation, the leftists took the political initiatives and the rightists were inferior to the leftists. The political aspect began to change as the trusteeship argument was progressing. Both parties staged joint fighting standing on the same side of anti-trusteeship at the beginning. However, as the leftists turned round to support the decision at Three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Moscow, while the rightists intensified the anti-trusteeship movement, both powers confronted. Both parties collided with each other frequently. Interconnected with the U.S. Military Government’s artificial policy to reshuffle the political powers, the activity of leftists was weakened, while that of rightists was active as time passed. After the October strife in 1946, the rightists strengthened the organizational base, but the organizational base of leftists was weakened remarkably as main features were arrested or escaped. The leftists supported the U.S-U.S.S.R Joint Commission and was active for establishment of a provisional democratic government according to the command line of activity and did not acquired a concrete result. Instead, their capability gradually weakened as they developed strife more due to the suppression by U.S. Military Government. Around the establishment of government, the leftists were almost collapsed, while the rightists reinforced their influence on local area gaining positive advantage.
