The purpose of this research is to investigate the reason why high school education in Korea can’t take the inter-nations mutual certification for academic qualification. For this, First, We compared and analyzed the contents of education of Korea and New Zealand in Life Science of High School. Secondly, To analyze the evaluation items, We compared and analyzed the evaluation items conducted in CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) in Kora and the External Assessment items of 2015 NCEA (National Certificate Education Achievement) and level 1․2․3 Biology conducted by NZQA (New Zealand Qualification Authority). In conclusion, the contents and evaluation items of Life Science in Korea and New Zealand were similar in many aspects. The only difference between Korea and New Zealand is the evaluation system. In New Zealand, the academic ability can be quantified by the yearly external evaluation by NZQA, which shows the level of students’ academic achievement. On the other hand, the evaluation method of Korea fails to show the level of students achievement because the evaluation is not implemented by the national level. That’s the important reason the academic qualification in Korean high school is not acknowledged in other counties.
