The main purpose of this study was to analyze the conception of the human's sensation and perception observed in science textbooks and the cognition of teachers and students. For this pur-pose, we analyzed 9 kinds of 8th science textbooks of the 7th national science curriculum, and con-ducted a questionnaire survey of 281 middle school students and 51 science teachers concerning their concepts. The major results were: First, there weren't explanation how the hearing, taste and smell worked in the textbook. Second, 64% of the science teachers and 86% of the students had miscon-ceptions on the taste map and there were the same misconceptions in the textbook. Third, most of the students and teachers hadn't brain concepts on the hearing, taste and smel especially per-ception pathway. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement contents on the human's sensation and perception in the curriculum and to correct the textbooks using scientific concepts. In addition, it is suggested to develop a learning program on the human's sensation and perception for science tea-chers and students.
