Teaching essay writing in the field of Chinese classics education is necessary to understand our ancestors' lives and wisdoms properly and to succeed and develop traditional culture. For appropriate understanding of ancestors' lives and wisdoms and for succeeding and developing traditional culture, thinking power and originality is required. The ways of teaching essay writing that are probable in Chinese classics instructions are as follows. First, we can teach essay writing through the course aimed at building the abilities of reading and writing. We can teach essay writing through teaching chinese words that are frequently used in the essay writing. Second, teaching essay writing through theme-based learning. So far, essay test questions have been strongly related to social issues. Therefore, it is efficient to classify the Chinese words thematically before teaching them. Focusing on diverse themes, teaching essay writing is possible using ways of reading, thinking, writing according to situations. Third, teaching essay writing through traditional chinese literal style. There are many literal styles in Chinese classics that have characteristics of essay. One of these style is nonbyunche (style of argument), works of which will be good materials for preparing for essay writing. Also we can select appropriate works in juiche which has the content of a retainer's informing political affairs to a king and teach them. Chakmoon is typical of them. From discussions above, we have seen that Chinese classics education and teaching essay writing are correlated closely and there are many efficient ways to teach them.
