This article tries to critically analyze the known alternatives for the definition of transference symptom, and to interpret transference as a kind of ritual in order to survive, even though in being separate between animal and anger. According to Freud, the transference symptom is an affective, resistant, and repetitive action occurring after a short time in treatment, in which the truth of the repressed unconsciousness comes out in action that is acceptable to the actual society. However, according to Lacan, the transference symptom is a kind of representation made in a converging point between the real, imaginary, and symbolic, and not an affection as Freud thought. In this context, in order to form the transference symptom, "the subject supposed to know" is necessarily needed. My conclusions can be summarized as follows: First, transference symptom is a necessary schema for personal relations, and is not a kind of neurosis proper in a particular person, as Freud thought. It is therefore not reasonable to define the transference symptom on categorical scales such as pleasure/displeasure or rational/irrational. Second, all repetitive, ritual, behaviors are useful ways of coping with the transference symptom; thus, even if these behaviors are superstitious, religious, or rational, they may be healing. It is therefore not justifiable to distinguish superstition from religion, or perversion from normal. For we are all perverse animals, split between the instincts of animals and the moral of anger. This orientation is necessary to destroy the division between the barbarous and civil person, and to unify the world.
