This research analyzes both the pull and push factors of the Thai constitutional monarch's political interventions. The temporary research results are as follows. The first pull factor is the crisis of political legitimacy which brought the Thai constitutional monarch's political interventions. Everytime the coups and political upheavals took place, the King filled the political vacuums and became the key legitimizer to provide the legitimacy to the political system. But, in any case, the King's political interventions as a legitimizer caused successive political instability. Another pull factor is the political groups' exploitation of the King. In this situation the King could be exploited, otherwise he sided with them passively or actively according to the situation. The King's primary aim is to protect or strengthen the kingship. The push factors are both the political strengths and the preserving or strengthening the constitutional monarchy. The primary political strengths are the King's charisma which is complemented by the other prominent factors. Even though the legitimacy crisis created the King's political interventions, if not the political strengths, the political interventions could not happen. Of course, the King's political strengths are not the direct factors of the political interventions, but without these, the political interventions might be impossible. The King's charisma can be found in Dhammaraja's characteristics. Whenever the King presents the political solution at the time of political upheavals, the people follow his decisions for solving the political crisis because of having faith in the King's charisma as Dhammaraja. Lastly, Another push factor is the preserving or strengthening the constitutional monarchy. Even the charismatic King as Dhammaraja played the political role in order to solve the political crisis, it is not clear whether his actions are for national interests or own political interests for himself or the royal family. Accordingly, it is also important to analyze the political interventions in terms of the King's political power.
