Women's history is a microscopic research area on life of women. Research on women in Joseon period tended to give a focus on ‘women's status in society’, ‘lessons for women’, and ‘women involved in patriarchy.’ Such research was usually based on lessons for women and historical records. However, as materials on women's history have been collected, translated and published for recent 10 years, women's life in the late Joseon period could be looked at in more detail and specifically. With that, the basis on which results of research on women can be integrated with microscopic results on a macro level was made. However, there is now a limitation in data collection on women's history. First, most of the materials were recorded by men, recorded life of women from the ruling class, and were directly collected from sources. This study began from recognizing the problem and aimed to seek a direction of data collection on women's history and an efficient reconfiguring strategy. To achieve the purpose, the range of data to collect should be expanded. A focus should be given on memorial poetry which mourns women's death, poetry on women and women's life, and description on women rather than men's behaviors in Chinese prose through which quantitative expansion of data can be achieved. Meta-data as the secondary data should be based on the primary data. So to speak, women's life should be reconfigured before women cyclopedia is made and relation trees and family trees by marriage should be centered on women. Specific bibliographical notes on each work are also needed. They work as guidelines for integrated outlook of materials on women through related works, characters, cases and external information. Also they should become bases for database and archives on women's history. For that, it is necessary to do disciplinary research on Humanities, Engineering, and others. That is the future direction for women's history.
