The purpose of this study is to examine the changing aspcet of the classical materials in secondary textbooks. For the analyses of textbooks, one research was to search for the frequency of unit including the classical materials in secondary textbooks, the other was to search for the concrete aspcet of the classical materials in secondary textbooks. The highest ratio of the unit including the classical materials in secondary textbooks was the upper school textbooks in th first and second curriculums. The ratio was fixed in upper school textbooks compared with in lower school textbooks. The classical materials was grouped into the prose, the poems and songs, and Korean translation of the Chinese classics. In prose, it was acquired the canonical status, the text such as <춘향가>, <심청전>, <별주부전>, <구운몽>, <홍길동전>, <훈민정음>, <조침문>, <규중칠우쟁론기>, <동명일기>, <삼국사기>, <삼국유사>, <봉산탈춤>. In the poems and songs, <관동별곡> was representative text. It was considerated seriously Korean poems created by the literary man of the two upper classes of old Korean[兩班] such as 윤선도. In Korean translation of the Chinese classics, <두시언해>, <소학언해> was choiced continuously. <노걸대언해> was added from the viewpoint of the history of Korean language use in daily life.
