The purpose of this study is to confirm if the art therapy program using music, fine art, and literature reduces the life stress of female university students living in the dormitory. It is intended to examine the life stress factors occurred while female students live in the dormitory and to reduce it through the art therapy program in order to enhance the university life and the interpersonal relations. The art therapy program of 10 sessions was conducted for 50 minutes per session twice a week targeting 7 Korean female students living in the dormitory of K University in D City to reduce the stress on the roommate, discipline, and environment. Beck’s cognition behavior and O’Morrow’s 3 domains, and the elements of Seligman’s positive psychology were applied to each detailed program content. The results of this study are as follows. First, to look at the advance-post score of the roommate stress, it was significant with the significant level under 0.1 and significant probability .086. Second, to look at the advance-post score of the discipline and environment stress, it was significant with the significant level under 0.1 and significant probability .038. It is confirmed through these results that the art therapy program using the music, fine art, and literature influenced the life stress decline of the female university students living in the dormitory, and it had a positive effect on these subjects.
