The issue of doing social responsibilities in Christian mission has long time been divided into two groups with different opinions, Evangelicals and Ecumenical groups. After two world wars and turmoils of world political situations thereafter, Ecumenical churches has been emphasizing social responsibilities of Christians and Christian churches. During conferences of World Council of Churches, it hit the peak points in Uppsala(1968) with a strong stress on Church's social responsibility. In that conference even church's ultimate purpose was considered as the accomplishment of social justice. Up to that time evangelicals protested ecumenical's extreme opinions on social salvation even though they had some sense of social responsibilities of churches. In the Lausanne conference(1974) evangelical had balanced thoughts on between evangelism and social responsibilities of churches. With succeeding evangelical conferences evangelicals developed biblical thoughts on social responsibility, and those thoughts influenced ecumenical groups in reverse. With the conflicts and interactions of different opinions for a long time they finally reached the balanced opinions in spite of the differences of their stressing points.
