The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of TABATA exercise on the improvement of liver function and the risk factors of metabolic syndrome by applying it to middle-aged women with borderline obesity. The subjects were exercised for 8 weeks, 3 times a week, and 60 minutes a day. The results were as follows based on the results of two measurements before and after the TABATA exercise. After TABATA exercise, there was a statistically significant difference in body weight and significant results were obtained. There was a significant decrease in AST and ALT in liver function improvement and a significant decrease in γ-GTP but no statistically significant results. The risk of metabolic syndrome was decreased in the blood glucose level, and significant results were obtained. The systolic and diastolic blood pressures also decreased, and statistically significant results were obtained. In addition, the decrease in triglyceride and the increase in HDL-C were statistically significant. Taking these conclusions together, the TABATA exercise is thought to be a positive change in the body fat percentage, liver function improvement, and metabolic syndrome risk factors of middle-aged women with borderline obesity. It is suggested that middle-aged women with borderline obesity or obesity are suggestive exercise methods for healthy life from middle age to old age through body change, liver function improvement and blood change. I think that if I apply TABATA exercise to various subjects, I can verify the effect of the exercise.
