The purpose of this paper is to examine the wooden tablet newly excavated from Baesan Mountain Fortress(盃山城址) in Busan. It can be summarized as follows:
Firstly, the wooden tablet from Baesan Mountain Fortress is sort of official document consisting of approximately 50 letters in three lines. It is thought to be recorded at a specific point immediately after the year of 575 or 635 (乙未年, Eulminyeon).
Secondly, the wooden tablet is a document focused on the fact that the village, Bonpansachon(本阪舍村) missed the deadline while making payments to the local authority. First of all, the wooden tablet revealed that there were four facts that the village missed the deadline, and then recorded the specific date and quantity of goods. This document is only the basic data that recorded the particular facts that have been made between the village and the local authority. It is considered that there would have been a separate comprehensive document collected by this kind of basic data at that time.
Thirdly, the wooden tablet also recorded the fact that certain items were borrowed, which means that the local authority lent goods to villagers when the grain was precious (around February of the lunar calendar).
