Baijuyi is a typical poet in Tang Dynasty, China. His poems are easy, honest and touching. So historically, many Korean writers in the past liked them. Heo Kyun had written the most replies to Baijuyi`s poems among Koreans. He replied a total of 25 poems. Heo Kyun was excellent at writing poems. Therefore, he was able to write his own Responsory Poetry by reflecting the original beauty of the Baijuyi’s poem. Also, the themes is well matched with the themes of Baijuyi"s original works. Heo Kyun chose Baijuyi’s works when he was hated by the emperor and sent to the countryside. It is because Heo Kyun also went to exile at the same age. In the countryside, Baijuyi wrote about not only the agony of his heart but also the happy mind of living with nature. Heo Kyun chose only works that Kim was happy or satisfied with, and wrote back. By writing these poems, he seems to have tried to show that he is still happy and confident though he lost power and was deported. He spoke in his poem as if he would no longer write and participate in secular affairs. But as soon as he got his freedom, he became deeply involved in politics. He wanted to live like a man of free spirit, but he didn"t choose that path, and as a result he died unhappily.
