This research on the influence of learning taekwondo in an actual elementary school setting has three purposes. The first is to analyze what, if any, influence this training has on the sociability of the students. The second is to illuminate the necessity for this training as part of a regular school curricula. The third and final goal of this paper is to provide basic materials for teachers to aid them in the porcess of giving instruction in teakwondo. Data collection was conducted in an elementary school in Yangchon-gu, Seoul. The students were divided into two groups: the experimental group(G1) and the control group(G2). A total of 79 students were selected for experimental test and analysis. SPSS 11.0 program was used to determine the difference between the two groups at the significant level of 1%, the t-test was administered. The results obtained by using the above research method and analysis of materials are as follows. 1) The experimental group that was exposed to the taekwondo training program showed an improvement, in their level of sociability in comparison to the control group that was not. 2) The experimental group that was exposed to the taekwondo training program showed an improvement in their level of group expansiveness in comparison to the control group without the taekwondo training program. 3) The experimental group that was exposed to the taekwondo training program showed an improvement in their level of group cohesiveness in comparison to the control group without the taekwondo training program.
