This study review the excavation performance of the Wolseong moat since the 1980s, learned about the change of the moat, and analyzed the conditions of excavation between moats that had been excavated, and looked for the value of excavation mujian.
The Wolseong moat are confirmed the presence of moats on the northern side of Wolseong easten-gate by investigating the excavation site and determined the size, construction techniques, patterns, and interior layer of moats by the excavation research.
After analyzing and studying the results of an excavation research, the Wolseong moat was able to pit moat was constructed during the Three Kingdoms Period, when the stone-built moat was constructed Silla unified the three kingdoms in changed the postwar era, Finally the moat was fell into disuse after the 9th century.
In addition, due to the nature of the moat, various wooden objects, earthen ware, and tiles were excavated and various wooden structures, plant fluids, and organisms were found in the society.
In particular, mujian are the most direct graphic materials that can be inferred about the society of the time, and are the key artifacts of restoring Silla culture. Up to now, around 180 mujian and mujian parts wooden have been excavated from the Wolseong moat, and among them, 30 mujian and mujian parts wooden with read on them are actively used to identify culture at the time.
This study we have examined the status of new-through mujian and mujian parts wooden found in the moat transfusion from 2015 and have examined the characteristics of mujian and mujian parts wooden excavations and their locations.
The mujian excavated during the Three Kingdoms Period is only excavated from the pit moat of the blood transfusion after being disposed of, and is not shaped by the moat in its general appearance.
However, it is unreasonable to investigate some of the transfusion so far and identify the entire aspect of mujian excavated from the Wolseong moat. In the future, in-depth research has been conducted on mujian excavated from the year"s original site, and it is expected to be used as a base for restoration of the Silla culture
