Based on childcare teachers" belief on "developmental appropriate practice", this study attempted to examine each developmental stage according to childcare teachers" interests, and their belief on each stage. The subjects for this study are 130 childcare teachers who are currently working in childcare centers located in Seoul, and the method of the study is to analyze questionnaires that were collected from the subjects. The result of the analysis showed that the developmental stages consisted of reinforcement, maturity, renewal and survival in the order of high rate. As for the general belief on "developmental appropriate practice", teachers of national or public childcare centers had higher belief than teachers in private childcare centers. As for age, the age of 30 or more showed highest mark for the belief. The analysis of the factors for belief showed that it was influenced by types of working places, age, career and education. These results indicate that the human factors or material factors of working places for childcare teachers are extremely important. In addition, as the previous education of teachers greatly influenced on the belief, the education programs for childcare teachers need to be well structured. Furthermore, the belief suitable to development and the belief not suitable to development are developed independently according to ages or careers, so there is a need to establish studies and reinforcement for re-education for currently working teachers on each stage. In particular, there are no clear directions for systematic education for childcare teachers, so it is required that studies and development on educational programs for the current teachers are constantly perform.
