A child is growing up into an independent and social human being through sociodramatic play experience. Thus, it is very important to analyze what aspects of sociodramatic play contribute to child development, especially development of social competence.
This study analyzes the effect of sociodramatic play on development of social competence of children through literature review, and recommends that teachers recognize sociodramatic playas an alternative perspective to effective learning activity, help children develop social competence by using a various kinds of strategies for promoting sociodramatic play. The strategies include construction of learning environment which is effective for applying sociodramatic play, and management of integrative curriculum which include sociodramatic play activities as a part of curriculum in order to transfer sociodramatic play experiences into learning activities.
