The 4th Industrial Revolution has a decisive effect on the trade structure, reform of education system. There is a growing demand for cultivating creative trade professionals capable of solving complex problems. In spite of the regular curriculum and specialized courses for trade training, there is a difference between the competence of trade professionals required by trade-related companies/institutions and the competence of students cultivated in universities. Moreover, there is a difference between the competence of students and the future competencies offered by the World Economic Forum and the other research results.
Therefore, this study analyzed the changes of the 4th industrial revolution, trade structure and educational paradigm, and also analyzed the competencies required as current and future trade professionals. This study suggests two ways of problem solving: One is to reform the curriculum by un-bundling the existing curriculum and re-bundling them as a sub-major track or block according to the educational goal. Another is to adopting new educational methods such as Maker Education, problem based learning etc.

현재 4차 산업혁명에 의한 글로벌 가치사슬의 재편, 뉴노멀 시대의 무역 구조의 변화, 교육 패러다임 및 교육제도의 개편이 일어나고 있다. 이와 같은 변화는 그동안 꾸준히 있었던 것이며 새로운 현상은 아니다. 그러나 변화의 속도는 그 이전보다 더 빨라질 것이며 궁극적으로 무역 교육에 지대한 영향을 미치게 될 것이며, 이미 복합적 문제해결을 할 수 있는 창의적 무역 전문인력의 육성에 대한 요구가 높아지고 있다.
대학에서는 정규 교육과정에 의해 교육이 이루어지고 있으며 일부 대학에서는 현장 중심의 특성화 과정도 운영하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 무역 관련 기업과 기관에서 요구하는 무역 전문인력의 역량과 대학에서 양성하고 있는 학생의 역량 간에는 차이가 있는 것으로 조사되고 있다. 해외 고등교육에서는 Cousera, Udacity, edX 등이 MIT, Stanford 등 유수 대학들과 협력적 교육을 하고 있으며, 기업과 나노 디그리 모델을 도입하였다. 이에 우리나라도 정부에서 대학에 나노 디그리를 도입할 준비를 하고 있으며 K12분야의 교육 방법을 전환시키면서 향후 대학 교육에 미치는 영향이 클 것으로 예상된다.
이에 본 연구에서는 4차 산업혁명, 무역 구조 및 교육 패러다임의 변화와 현재 및 미래의 무역 전문가로서 요구되는 역량을 분석 하고, 이를 토대로 무역학의 특성을 유지하면서 통섭적 인력의 양성을 위하여 기존의 전공 체계 중심의 교과과정을 un-bundling하고 학생의 적성, 진로, 기업의 요구 등을 검토하여 세부 전공과정을 재편성하여 학생의 학습 선택권을 제공할 수 있는 re-bundling된 트랙을 제공하는 교과과정의 개편방향과 문제 기반 학습이나 Maker Education과 같은 새로운 교육방법을 도입하는 방안을 제시하였다.
