This paper analyzes Koreans’ usages of cohesive device in Chinese Narrative-Descriptive writing. It distinguishes the cohesive devices into the lexical cohesive device and the syntactic cohesive device. The lexical cohesive device includes ① homotype reiteration, ② partial homotype reiteration, ③ synonym (near-synonym), and ④ generic term. The syntactic cohesive device includes ① reference, ② substitution, ③ ellipsis, and ④ conjunction. According to the analysis results, Koreans mostly use homotype and partial homotype reiterations, but rarely use synonym or generic term of lexical cohesive devices in Chinese narrativedescriptive writing. On the other hand, Koreans use all four types of syntactic cohesive devices, but relatively use fewer omission than other devices. In this research, few errors are found related to the cohesive device because the subjects of this research are the answer sheets of writing test for the advanced learners of Chinese language. However some errors are found as follows: use of the ‘partial homotype reiteration’ instead of ‘homotype reiteration’; addition of ‘substitution’ components; omission of ‘homotype reiteration’; misuse of ‘reference’ component.
