This text offers a reflection about the novelistic genre regarding some elements in Clarice Lispector´s A paixão segundo GH, brazilian novel published in 1964. It´s an analytical approach to the way in which the author sets the condition of the individual in a moment of changes and debate between modernity and postmodernity as movements of thought in the XXth Century. With language as a basic resource, factors such as fragmentation and lack of unity regarding the break as the core of the writing are reviewed, aiming to emphasize the contribution of Clarice Lispector´s writing as representative of a new conception of the romance starting with the idea of rupture.
