The postmodern audience searches for authenticity because they are swamped over by plethora of relativistic values and ideas and are continuously forced to conform to a pseudo-identity. Teaching that fosters authenticity could counter this postmodern predicament and the concept “teacher authenticity” will be explored and formulated through this article. The review of the previous literature that discusses teacher identity and teacher spirituality enabled the formulation of the concept "teacher authenticity." There are three main components to teacher authenticity: bringing in the whole self, relationship, and integrity. The importance and need for faculty authenticity is delineated with supporting claims deriving from the foundations of the Scripture as well as social science and educational studies. Specific implications of teacher authenticity for higher education as well as Christian education context are also presented in this article.
