The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of movement-play activities for the development of fundamental , movement skill in children. Subjects were 350 boys and girls 4 or 5 years of age who are in D.M.S Kindergartens in Taegu. The pre and post test of movement-play programs were accomplished between control group and experimental groups. The domains of movement skill are three, that is say, locomotion(25 meters dash, standing long jump, foot hopping, repeated leaping), manipulation throwing for distance, flying-ball catching), stability(foot balance, forward roll, beam walking). The Result are as follows; 1. The effects of movement-play programs are a little in the 25 meters dash of the basic factors(25 meters dash, standing long jump) in locomotion domain this means that innate factor rather than acquired learning effect functions. But there are effective in standing long jump for the movement-play programs. 2. Combination factors(foot hopping, repeated leaping)of loconaoton domain is more effective in enhancing movement-play programs than basic factors. Accordingly the factor of the combination in locomotion domain are influenced greatly under the acquired learning. 3. The factors of propulsive(throwing for distance) in manipulation domain is effective in movement-play programs, especial in boy and the differences are expanded according to the aging. 4. The factors of absorptive in manipulation domain is effective in movement-play programs. and absorptive is more influenced rather than propulsive. 5. All items of tree stability domain(foot balance, forward roll, beam walking) are effective in the movement-play programs. This means that the domain stability are influenced by acquired learning. Especially the factor of static balance(foot balance)in stability domain is more effective boy rather than girl.
