Report Errors
The issue, the merge & acquisition between SK and CJHV arrests public attention. This study suggests how to expand into the concept of universal service including the concept of regionality due to transferring the value between telecommunication and broadcasting in the M&A situation of telecommunication actor, SK and broadcaster, CJHV. This paper analyzed the comparison of the channel composition and channel programming between CJHV Chungnam and SK Btv. The research results showed though CJHV Chungnam has a lot of optional channel service, a actual consumption effect is not big. Compulsory channels is allocated to the channel number that consumer is hard to reach and still broadcasts analogue contents. Btv offers compulsory channels as HD quality. Also, it has more channels than CJHV of same price. Original air rate CJHV reduces and rerun rate increases till 2014 from 2012. This results implies regional channel does not realize the public and regionality. To merge between CHHV and SK, various problems such as the public and regionality need to be solved.
