In this paper the changing phase of Incheon's image was studied through dramas published after modern ages. In drama-works there is not a great difference between the Incheon's image shown before Independence and that shown after Independence. Before Independence Incheon was described as the space of death by poverty, as the space of breakdown by the past, and as the space of collapse by speculation. After Independence Incheon has been established in dramas as the tragic space as ever. In other words, it has been established as the space where the ugly facts were revealed, as the space of pain by past, as the space of a gateway into Seoul. After all, Incheon in dramas has been appeared as the space keeping the wounds of the modern history. This Incheon's image is just the opposite to the image to which Incheon is pointing. In 21th century Incheon is making rapid progress. But Incheon in dramas is yet remaining in the premodern image. Incheon's image needs to be enhanced. Therefore dramatists and plays, that can express Incheon affirmatively, should be supported actively.
